Baztastic St George town, Quebec
Philly is over and I now relax in the comfort of an hotel in St George, general quartier of the Tour de Beauce, from tomorrow to sunday june 14th
6 days of high level racing but not as high as Philly was. I got in the move there with a fuji guy and 3 columbia including Marco Pinotti and Edwald Boasson Hagen...for about 10k before getting caught by a 15 men chase pack...I felt like we were flying and I could barely hold on wheels at that moment but it was an awesome feeling. the split happend on top of lap 8 up Maniunk and after that i was f... but managed to finish in the front group taking some pulls for the team sprinters of the day...Cantwell, Dionne and Sulzberger
I got a random doping control after that and surprisingly I was able to piss in front of the inspector after just a bit of time...I mean it s not easy to do it while you ve someone staring at it.
tomorrow they re calling for bad weather here in Canada...( btw..first time here I m so excited ) if so I think there s more than a chance for me to win the stage
so, goodnight
Baz

I have toothache today and I just got back from the emergency room

we rode 3 hrs easy, ate a big sandwich at subway wich was the best part of the day for sure..it s pissing rain in Pennsylvania and it s pissing pissness through my brain
3 days to the most important race of the year and I don t know if I can start it yet due to the medications I ve been taking for the toothache
this is painful
I m about to go to dinner at Boston s
that place sucks!
I hate it
ciao Ah, the stuff
I want stuff people, I need the stuff to do my stuff...it s a matter of having the Stuff. Who has the stuff? Do you have the stuff?? Because if u don t, I m not listening to you baby
Today is one of those days I m thoughtful about what life is. And also, I m wondering where the stuff is.
Had a good weekend of racing, legs were good and I got 9th place in the Air Force Classic in Washington DC, I didn tlike the heat but managed to be in the front at the end, my teammate Charles Dionne was 2nd he rode strong and we re both looking ahead to Philly
I m currently in Allentwon, Pennsylvania...watched track racing tonight..fun....I would be probably better at that than on RR
I love 90 s music and would love to win Philadelphia, it s my biggest goal of the season.
ciao Bazz with Major

Baz Bazz motorpacing behing Ben Day (Day by Day Coaching)
the legs were tired today, I didn t epect it after a rest day yesterday but probably it s because of some bad unhealthy food I had last night, I liketo think it this way
the races I ve been preparing for are coming up and it s finally the time of truth
on one side I m confident the work i ve been doing will pay out, on the other I pray God to help me an give me the wisdom and power to do well
tonite Greg Henderson and wife are coming home, I ll leave 'em my bedroom especially since she s pregnant and it wouldn t be nice to put her asleep on a mattress on the floor
time to move my mess in the basement, gotta go
ciao
Baz great ride today, optimal pace with maximal effort on top of PTP hwy
rain caught us at 9200ft, we descended left hand cyn and warmed up, going fast and loving the warmer rain
it s sunday afternoon and i wish there was something going on, like...I don t know..an earthquake...or an atomic attack but nothing...flat quietness..sitting in the bathroom
I miss home, my family. where am I gonna go next I don t know where am I i do know that I m in Boulder colorado. It s a crazy town.
not much else folks, not much
looking forward to dinner at Proto s later tonight, time to reload the engine
cheers
Baz today has been a good day so far
raced the crit in Louisville and got 2nd place, wich isn t bad caz you cant go from last to first all of a sudden, you wanna take 2nd, and maybe 1st tomorrow
legs were great, but I started the sprint way too long and sat on with 50 meters to go.
need to get some rest in and reload for tomorrow...it would be good to enter the big races in washington DC and philly with a local win in the pocket:the koppenberg

Baz writing needs inspiration
inspiration needs music
sex needs love
riding needs attention
descending a fast downhill requires a helmet, or a good hat
I need water
too much cold water causes diharrea
then you need more water to rehydrate yourself
a baby needs a mom and a dad, and food
a baby needs music
a baby is inspiration
here s some other kind of inspiration I just found surfing youtube
goodnight
BAz Bored. Long day riding a little time. Legs are tired, still I need to put clits on the new shoes and get strong enough to smash everybody in the coming races
I want ice cream and a good movie. or maybe just surf on youtube and listen to moonlight serenade
tomorrow is a pretty important day on my trainings schedule, I need to be rested and go to bed early I don t know what day is it today, I know it s time for dinner and I m starving
I don t have a poker face, but I m listening to that song.
I m try not to talk about myself, but I m writing a journal on this very very popular website. since the guy who publishes my stories ( Chuck Francis Coyle ) doesn t edit them, because he want 'em to be pure and real, well I think he just doesn t do it caz he s a lazy ass
today was 6h28min ride with Balwin, Justin England, Ben ( not Day ), Brad ( not White ) and the Jelly Belly kid. I felt weird, bad, sick, hot, cold then stopped for a sandwich, smashed the climb up the old mine somewhere south of here and felt super super good afterwards
it s a hard life when you don t have a poker face but a big nose ( almost as big as lady gaga ) and blackheads all over the place. but why? I say..why??????????
lady gaga is so ugly
cheers

it s been so long
since I did kiss you :(
cheers
baz having pistachio ice cream. the best recovery food after a very long day and even longer ride...
It all started with and early morning, couldn t miss any second of the Giro stage in my hometown of Bergamo. well, my home tiny town village is actually Cene, Bergamo is 10 miles south form there and watching the race on the internet got me a little misty eyed, it s hard to believe a couple weeks ago I was racing levi, lance and horner in New Mexico and today they were riding right there where I was on my bike a million times. the crowds were huge and I thought about my family and friends all there watching the action live
well, so had the usual cereal breakfast and headed out alone for a ride...big thomson ( got lost on the way there ) estes p. peak to peak, ward and down left hand....ended up with 200.3k, exactly what I wanted at an average speed of 30kph. It s a pity I don t have a powermeter yet, yes the average speed was really good but I also enjoyed some nice tailwind during most of the climbing. What counts is that I felt good, light on the pedals and no bonk, considering I rode above 8500 feet for more than 2hrs. you go long cause you know you have to, big races are coming up, but after 4 1/2 5hrs you forget the good purposes of your ride and really it s mostly about suffering, loving it or hating it well the line that separates those feelings gets more narrow minute by minute. I love the feeling of sweting in the heat, and you sweat more when you re going slow on the steep sections, and the sweat goes into your eyes if your sunscreen is a cheap one
the form is coming along for sure, now I will need to alternate long days and rides with speedy intervals, eat healthy stuff and go to sleep early. in such long rides you make all kinds of thoughts...at first I thought about Philly, about the sprint or the breakaway, then I thought at all the times I ve done this and it didn t really work out in the race...and so what...and so I ended up thinking that I don t care about the results...all I care and makes me happy is that I ride a super bad ass bike, legs are fast, I m much more healthy than I was 2 weeks ago and I want my family to come to Colorado, move to Estes Park and my dad will sell cheese. He can t speak english but that makes it even better, he could be the rude 50years old italian who cuts some awesome slices of italian cheese and yells with no reason at the customers, I will be the cashier getting tipped by the cougars in town
so that s the plan
stay tuned
Baz Lake Carter, what a beautiful virgin loop up I discovered today for the first time!
3h 40min ride including 5 kilo ( s ) intervals, wich consist of a 20"+40" effort each..20 secs standing going as hard as you can on a 53 13 gear, + 40 secs butt on the saddle 53 12. so tough but yet so good
I m happy beacuse I felt really good after a while today and I m looking forward to tomorrow s super long ride. It will be a good test
I went to the store and bought some ape's nuts cereal, a brand new ceral mix very rich in proteins, apparently..Chuck said it so it must be true :)
Winds were strong again, I m in charge of mashed potatoes tonight and they re gonna be delicious
and nutritious
cheers
Baz ....he loves ape-nuts!
what I learned from yesday s ride is that winds may get very very gusty in Colorado and tempt you every other second about flipping your bike back home....thank God I resisted that, kept going and even if it took me 20 min more than normally I completed my loop up St Vrain cyn, crushed on the couch and watched the big Giro stage with Chuck an Sova, while having the biggest melty sandwich of all times.
Bazz on Sunshine Cnyn
yesterday was also Jennifer ( Chuck s wife ) birthday and we went out for dinner at Protos, had lots of pizza with Matt, Lisa and their young kids.
I can t hold myself when it comes to food, really there s no way. maybe cause I used to do that when I was a junior, with our coach checking on our weight all the time...pasta, salad with a teaspoon size of olive oil on it, steak, natural water lots of fruits and just a few desserts
I can say there s something to learn form everybody, from the pro-skinny coach to your grandma who feeds you like she would feed a buffalo, if you know what your goals are, your body will naturally adapt itself to what s best for you...in the way to achieve those goals
but what am I saying really...while having a super juicy steak at the same table with Chuck, who s patiently tryng to feed his one year old daughter, love is the one ingredient we need to get to stay strong and stay positive!
today easy climbing up sunshine, funny descent on dirt roads
need to get a cyclocross beast, definetely
ciao
Baz Bazz in Ward, CO
mother s day, 2009
Called mom first thing in the morning. I miss her a lot, especially her cooking and doing dishes
Rode up left hand doing intervals with theprossuff mentor Chuck Coyle. He kinda kicked my butt there but saved me on top when I had a flat and no spare tubes. We used the Coyle s official sealing system, injected the sealing liquid in the tube and that was it! Altough had to come right back home beacuse of a snowblizzard....forgot jacket at home and freezed on the way down....I was just shaking, looking at the red back tire of Chuck s bike. painful, but fortunately short
good 90 min nap after the shower, drank 1L of yogurt and headed to the store. I got Jennifer a good double Jelly Bean package since she s very sick and I m trying to cheer her up for mother s day!
Now I m hanging in the living room with little Sovita, just a bit spoiled today maybe it s all the food I gave her yesterday while babysitting her...btw Chuck raced the infamous "dash for cash" in Denver and came out a....WINNER!
congrats Chuck, you re big bad ass!!....bad big ass works too :)

what a filthy, filthy day people!
couple hrs ride in the morning just to make it on time for my date with the dentist...cancelled the one at noon, straight under surgery at 2pm, mountain time
tried to be cool, but couldn t avoid the sweating and panic during the removal of the wisdom tooth...it didn t wanna come out but dt. Travis is a navigate one and just kept going until it was done and clean
Bloody hell! got some good painkillers and should be able to train normally from saturday already.hopefully the night will be...easy??
really awesome weather outside, gotta run upstairs now and learn from Chuck how to cook meat loaf
what a filthy, filthy night!
ciao
btw...I now have a twitter account, The King of Cheese.
may 6th, 2009
5hrs up the canyons today, starting from St. Vrain and finishing down Left Hand Cyn 29.2 kph average wich is faster than i expected, but most of all I rode a good couple hrs above 8500feet on ptp hwy again.
I m here feeding little Sova with Chuck making big tender steaks for the two of us Also, we just came out with an interesting acronyme for Sova
Subterrainian Overnight Viral Assimilation. doesn t make much sense but it sounds cool to me, and even cooler to Chuck.
I fear the dentist tomorrow at noon, but not as much as I fear the oral surgeon scheduled at 2pm
Pray for me, please
cinco de mayo
good 4hrs up left hand, peak to peak back and forth...and return feeling good on the bike, but cracked a tooth at breakfast.damn you frosted cereal!
I ran into a crazy icy blizzard storm up peak to peak hwy, had to stop at Ward s small grocery store where i got to chat a bit with the owner, nice person. The coffee was pretty good too

back home after a long day and even longer drive
First, I ve talked to Lance yesterday during the race. I rode by him and told him it s been an honour racing with him. He smiled and said "thank you". I wished him good luck for the Giro and Levi came by as well smiling, recommending me to ride safe in the stage. Then I went back with my teammates ( we were going single file at the moment ) but they weren t so thrilled about my little chat with the champs. Well I was, and I still am, and forever will be
For a while I ve thought that was the story of the day, until 1k to go. I had previously pulled out of the race and was waiting for the leaders group to come at the finish on the continental divide. Saw Horner, Levi and other 3 riders coming insanely fast. behind them i recognized our team car...i got excited knowing Phil was in there, they came by and he looked just awesome...that was with about 800 meters to go....Levi attacked to lead out Lance, but Phil came around him and put a 12 seconds gap onto the finish line, winning solo
Now the morning is quiet and the adrenaline is gone, but thank you Phil for what you did because that s just so inspirational for all of us.
Also, I only weight 142lbs this morning, 9 less than january...it's time to put back on some muscles baby!
May 2nd, 2009
crashed...that's it in a fraction of a sec you re down with 1 and a half laps to go, you re down after a BMC guy and Chris Horner go down in front of you and that s it
Jim Carrey once said that even the worst things that happen in our lives are good, great, beautiful and constructive for a much better future. it s hard to remember his words when those thing actually happen, but you know what tomorrow s another day out there, and I'm going for it to help my teammate Phil getting on the podium of this Tour of the Gila, 2009
cheers
Baz silver city
waiting for tt results, rode hard on a road bike. Didn t catch anybody. Nobody caught me!
most enjoyable moment of the day was lunch, a philly cheestake in the new flat brad at subway...twice... had to walk over half a mile in SC s thin air and headwind to get it, that definetly made it taste good
pretty boring afternoon spent on the internet and watching tv, wearing underwear only
cheers
